The new Porsche Taycan 2025 represents the restyling of the first German electric car and is already heating up at the Nürburgring, where it threatens to surpass the record currently held by the Rimac Nevera for electric vehicles.
The new version will be more than just a simple facelift, with numerous technical improvements that will push the GT version to reach 1000 HP.
Porsche Taycan 2025 aims to surpass Rimac and Tesla
We know that many automakers use the German circuit as a benchmark for the development of their high-performance cars and as a marketing tool to promote the speed of their vehicles. Specifically, Porsche has its sights set on both Rimac and Tesla, which has repeatedly tested the Model S Plaid in Germany, even setting the record for electric cars with a lap time of 7:25.231 minutes.
In 2023, Rimac Nevera performed even better, achieving a time of 7:05.290, almost 20 seconds faster. It’s a challenging record to beat, but the Porsche Taycan 2025 might just do it. In fact, Porsche has stated that a pre-production Taycan has already achieved a lap time of 7:07.55, 2 seconds faster than the Nevera.
They hope the final version can do even better, representing a significant improvement compared to the current Taycan, which is 26 seconds faster than the 2022 Taycan Turbo S Sport with the Performance Pack.
In addition to performance, the Taycan is expected to receive updates in terms of aesthetics and, especially, internal technological features, introducing some innovations that we will surely get to know in the new Macan, set to debut in the first part of 2024.
