Forza Horizon 5 has been a favorite among car enthusiasts and gamers alike, praised for its expansive vehicle roster, diverse events, and overall gameplay complexity in both single-player and online multiplayer modes. However, the game was released three years ago, prompting fans to wonder about the possibility and timing of a Forza Horizon 6.
Anticipation and Speculation
Many fans were expecting an announcement in 2024, following the series’ traditional three-year release cycle. However, the latest Xbox Showcase in June offered no mention of Forza Horizon 6. This has left many wondering: where exactly is Forza Horizon 6?
As of now, there has been no official confirmation regarding the release of Forza Horizon 6. While it seems likely that the game will eventually be developed, there’s no definitive information. Playground Games, the studio behind the Forza Horizon series, has remained tight-lipped on the subject.
That said, speculation about the game’s setting is already circulating. Given that Forza Horizon 4 was set in Scotland and Forza Horizon 5 in Mexico, it seems unlikely that the next installment will be located in Europe or the Americas. Many fans are hoping for a new adventure in Asia, with Japan being a popular choice. Others believe that Africa could be the next destination, as both continents have yet to be explored in the series.
Regardless of the location, it’s expected that Forza Horizon 6 will retain the four-season cycle introduced in Forza Horizon 4. However, players can also anticipate new events and special series, along with an even richer selection of vehicles.
Could Forza Horizon 6 Come to PlayStation?
When Forza Horizon 5 was released in 2021, no one expected it to ever appear on PlayStation. However, since then, Microsoft has started to bring some of its Xbox-exclusive titles to the PS5, including Sea of Thieves and Hi-Fi Rush. While major franchises like Halo, Forza, and Gears of War have yet to make the jump to Sony’s console, Microsoft hasn’t completely ruled out the possibility.
It’s safe to say that if Forza Horizon 6 is released, it will be available on Xbox, PC, and through Game Pass on day one, just as Forza Motorsport was. The chances of it coming to PlayStation, while still uncertain, can’t be entirely dismissed.
When Can We Expect Forza Horizon 6?
At this point, a 2024 release seems unlikely. Releasing the game in 2025 would also be challenging, especially with Rockstar Games planning to launch the highly anticipated GTA VI that year. Microsoft would likely avoid releasing Forza Horizon 6 in the same period to avoid competition.
Moreover, Playground Games is also working on another series set to launch in 2025. Considering these factors, the most probable release window for Forza Horizon 6 is early 2026.
