As we know from our visit of Lynk & Co’s headquarter in Gothenburg, the only Scandinavian market where this brand is current available in Sweden and the brand has long offered only one model in its European lineup—the Lynk & Co 01. This car is essentially a more underground version of the Volvo XC40 PHEV, sharing both the CMA platform – used also on the Polestar 2 – and engine, while its cabin design is unique to Lynk & Co.

Lynk & Co’s connection to Volvo’s technology is due to its affiliation with the Chinese Geely Group, which also owns Volvo. Lynk & Co vehicles are designed in Gothenburg, Sweden, just like Volvo and Polestar.

Now, the brand is ready to launch its second model in Europe, the Lynk & Co 02, which also utilizes Volvo technology. The 02 model is the first fully electric car from Lynk & Co for Europe and is based on Geely’s SEA platform, which is also used in the Polestar 4 and Volvo EX30, such as in the Zeekr X that also shares the design language (here to know more). The design of the 02 is distinctive and not easily recognizable as Volvo-based. The coupé lines give the car an elegant and minimalist look.

Up to 445 km Range

Under the car, you’ll find a 66 kWh NMC lithium-ion battery with a claimed range of 445 km. The Lynk & Co 02 can be charged from 10% to 80% in 30 minutes using a 150 kW DC charger.

It delivers an impressive performance of 272 hp and 343 Nm of torque, and as a rear-wheel-drive electric car, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds, with a top speed of 200 km/h.

Inside, the cabin features a minimalist design that creates a sense of spaciousness and freedom. According to Lynk & Co’s design team, the interior is inspired by aviation, with the steering wheel allegedly designed to resemble that of an aircraft cockpit, and the long air vents intended to mimic airplane wings.

A highlight for many will be the large touchscreen with 5G connectivity and Qualcomm Snapdragon technology. The cabin is available in two color options: Black Ocean and Stone Grey.

While the Lynk & Co 02 may not be the most spacious car in its class, it still offers 15 liters of frunk space in the front and 410 liters of trunk capacity.

Will It Come to Denmark?

Whether Lynk & Co will officially enter the Danish market is still uncertain, but there have been considerations for an introduction. The new Lynk & Co 02, with its sharp design and familiar technology from the Geely Group, would fit well on Danish roads.
