On October 24, OnePlus will officially unveil OxygenOS 15 during a live-streamed event in the afternoon. This latest version of their operating system, based on Android 15, is being hailed as “the fastest and most intuitive” the company has ever developed, and with even more AI features than in the past.
The new release focuses on two main pillars: speed and fluidity. The OnePlus team has redesigned animations and introduced a completely overhauled user interface, aiming to enhance the overall user experience. The design improvements are paired with advanced multitasking features and expanded personalization options, which reflect continuous feedback from the OnePlus community.
OnePlus is also introducing a wide range of artificial intelligence tools in OxygenOS 15, designed to “simplify users’ lives” by improving productivity and fostering creativity. The company describes the new operating system as “the perfect fusion of speed, performance, and intelligence.”
Leaked details suggest that OxygenOS 15 introduce a new control center and notification shade. In this new featuers, swiping down from the left side of the screen brings up the notification panel, while swiping down from the right side opens the control center. However, users who prefer the traditional unified notification shade will be able to restore it via the settings menu.
Other new features expected in OxygenOS 15 include:
- A new volume control panel
- Live Photos functionality
- A hidden Easter egg accessed by typing “1+=” in the calculator app
- Enhanced lock screen customization
- A Dynamic Island-style notification system, with pill-shaped notifications surrounding the camera cutout.
