The Opel Mokka, originally launched in 2021 and based on the Corsa, has been one of Opel’s most stylish models in recent years. Now, it’s ready for a subtle facelift for the coming year.
At first glance, the changes may not seem significant, but upon closer inspection, several small details stand out. The Mokka was the first Opel to feature the distinctive Vizor front design, which now adorns the entire model lineup. One of the new updates to the refreshed Mokka is the modern Blitz emblem, symbolizing Opel’s new direction.
Inside, there are also several updates to note. The number of physical buttons has been reduced, as many functions are now integrated into the new standard 10” touchscreen, which also supports ChatGPT functionality. The steering wheel is not the same as in the facelifted Corsa but instead comes from Opel’s flagship model, the Grandland, adding a more premium feel compared to the smaller Corsa.
Same engines, but now with more power!
The engine lineup remains unchanged, with the Mokka still available in both petrol and all-electric versions, including the popular Mokka-e.
The electric version retains the same 54 kWh battery, delivering 156 HP and 260 Nm of torque, with an official range of up to 406 km. On the petrol side, there are some updates. The previous 100 hp and 130 hp versions have been replaced by a new 136 hp engine with mild-hybrid technology.
This system includes a 28 hp electric motor, enabling the Mokka to drive on electric power alone at lower speeds, helping to reduce fuel consumption.
The gearbox has also been upgraded from the previous 8-speed automatic to a new 6-speed dual-clutch automatic, ensuring even smoother shifts. Unfortunately, the manual gearbox is no longer an option.
Sales of the updated Mokka have already begun, with a slight price increase expected. We look forward to driving the new Mokka and seeing how its mild-hybrid engine performs on the road.
