Hongqi creates buzz with the new EH7 and EHS7 in Denmark

Earlier this year, Hongqi surprised the Danish market by cutting the price of their luxury SUV, the E-HS7. With a starting price of 449,900 DKK, Danish buyers can experience top-tier luxury at an affordable price. Next year, Hongqi will expand its lineup with two new luxury models, the Hongqi EHS7 and Hongqi EH7, both offering premium quality at attractive prices—a hallmark of this Chinese brand.

Hongqi EH7 and EHS7: 2 luxury cars, different formats

The new models include the EHS7, an SUV comparable in size to the BMW X5, and the EH7, a sedan within the BMW 5 Series class. But unlike the German competitors, Hongqi offers significantly lower prices, making luxury more accessible to Danish buyers.

EH7: luxury sedan with Tesla prices

The EH7 sedan, with its 4.9-meter length and exclusive interior, directly competes with models like the BMW i5 and Tesla Model S, although its price is closer to that of the Tesla Model 3. Starting at 349,900 DKK, this fully electric luxury car features refined cabin design, ample space, and advanced technology.

NordiskBil test-drove the model briefly in Paris, where the EH7 impressed with its comfortable ride quality and cabin standards that rival cars priced 200,000 DKK higher. Standard equipment includes a 15.5-inch touchscreen and a 5-inch digital instrument display. Additionally, the sound system—developed by Swedish firm Dirac—delivers an impressive 1,640 watts with a 280-watt bass unit.

EHS7: SUV luxury without compromise

For those seeking SUV height and spaciousness, the EHS7 provides the same impressive qualities as the EH7, just in a larger format.

Standing 1.6 meters tall and with the same length as its sedan counterpart, the EHS7 combines roominess with elegant design and high-tech features. This model starts at 389,900 DKK and competes with models like the Mercedes EQE SUV and Tesla Model Y but at a more accessible price.

Over 600 km range from a 111 kWh battery

Both models come with a choice of either an 88 kWh or a larger 111 kWh battery, as well as rear-wheel or all-wheel drive options. The rear-wheel-drive versions deliver 339 hp, while the all-wheel-drive version offers an impressive 619 hp, achieving 0-100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds. The EH7 has a range of up to 640 km, and the EHS7 up to 540 km.

The two new electric cars from Hongqi are available for order now and are expected to arrive at Danish dealerships in early 2025.
