Renault has unveiled three new electric vans that pay homage to some of their most iconic models: the Estafette E-Tech Electric, Goélette E-Tech Electric, and Trafic E-Tech Electric.

These vehicles are designed to meet modern sustainability demands while retaining the practical features that have made Renault’s vans favorites among businesses for decades.

Estafette E-Tech Electric

The Estafette E-Tech Electric honors the classic Estafette, first launched in 1959. At that time, the model quickly became a favorite among entrepreneurs due to its versatility and compact size. In its new electric version, it combines retro design with modern technology and emissions-free driving.

Renault has given it a design that clearly references the original but is adapted to today’s needs for sustainable transport. Specific details about its battery size and other specifications are yet to be announced, but it measures 5.27 meters in length and 1.92 meters in width.

Goélette E-Tech Electric

The Goélette E-Tech Electric draws on the heritage of the original Goélette, introduced in 1956. It was known for its robustness and ability to handle even the most challenging tasks. The new electric version retains these qualities while reducing operating costs and CO₂ emissions.

Renault has optimized the interior to offer better ergonomics and more storage space, making it ideal for logistics and service industries.

Trafic E-Tech Electric

The electric version of the Renault Trafic builds on the successful model that has been one of the most popular vans in Europe for decades. This time, it is expected to be a standalone model without sibling versions from Opel, Fiat, or Citroën.

With its spacious cabin and flexible layout, the Trafic E-Tech Electric is suitable for a wide range of business tasks. Specific details are yet to be announced, but it is anticipated to set the standard for more compact electric vans in Denmark.

A collaboration with Volvo

Renault’s new electric vans are being developed in collaboration with the Volvo Group as part of a strategic partnership in electric commercial vehicles. Volvo has extensive experience with electric trucks and vans, and this expertise is being integrated into Renault’s new models.

Together, they are working on developing a shared platform for electric vans to ensure lower production costs and faster development of new models. This collaboration aims to provide advanced battery technologies, improved charging infrastructure, and efficient energy consumption in the upcoming Renault vans.

When will the new models arrive?

Renault has not yet announced the exact launch dates for the new electric vans, but they are expected to be introduced by 2026. Initial information suggests that they will be available in Europe within the next two years and will offer competitive pricing compared to other electric vans on the market. Renault’s combination of classic design, modern technology, and collaboration with Volvo appears poised to create a compelling offering in the electric van segment.
