Zeekr continues to expand its lineup, which, in just four years since its inception, has become diverse and complex. Now, it’s time for the brand’s flagship SUV, the Zeekr 9X, which belongs to the high-riding family, as indicated by the “X” in its name. This lineup includes the Zeekr X crossover and the compact SUV Zeekr 7X, which we previously saw in Oslo. The main difference, aside from size, is that it will be the brand’s first hybrid vehicle.

Still based on the SEA platform, it will feature seven seats and an imposing design. It is unlikely to be part of the European lineup, which currently consists of the 001, X, 7X, and, later this year, the 7 GT. The Zeekr 9X could be officially unveiled at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show, scheduled for April 21.

Zeekr 9X: the first with the Super Hybrid system

The Zeekr 9X will be equipped with the Zeekr Super Hybrid system, an innovative technology that integrates elements of electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids, and full hybrids, similar to the system used by Chery in the Jaecoo 7.

Although the vehicle appears camouflaged, some key design details of the Zeekr 9X have emerged. The SUV features robust proportions, a high beltline, and a silhouette reminiscent of the Range Rover but also the Lynk & Co 900, which, however, is built on a different platform. It has a flat roof and slanted D-pillars. The exterior design includes flush door handles and a LiDAR sensor mounted on the roof, suggesting an advanced driver-assistance system.

The front end is characterized by squared-off headlights and a grille inspired by the Zeekr 009 MPV. Another interesting detail is the presence of a fuel filler flap on the left rear pillar, confirming the vehicle’s hybrid nature.

Although Zeekr has yet to release full technical specifications for the 9X, it is clear that this is a large vehicle, with a length exceeding 5.2 meters.
