In a near-simultaneous release with the new livery on the real McLaren Senna, the Amalgam Collection has introduced the limited edition 1:8 scale McLaren Senna “Senna Sempre.” This model, crafted by the renowned British atelier, replicates the distinctive features of the full-size vehicle.
Known for their meticulous reproductions of Lamborghini, Ferrari, Jaguar, and Bugatti, Amalgam Collection announced that only 30 units of this special edition will be produced to honor the legendary Brazilian driver Ayrton Senna. Two models have already been reserved for McLaren Automotive, ready in time for the car’s launch, and the Senna family. The remaining 28 units are available for pre-order on the Amalgam Collection website and can also be purchased by McLaren Senna owners through the McLaren Automotive website. Pricing details have not been disclosed.
Over 3000 Hours to Celebrate Senna
Each Amalgam McLaren Senna “Senna Sempre” model represents the culmination of over 3000 hours of design and development. The foundation of these perfectly identical replicas lies in the confidential CAD data shared by McLaren Automotive with Amalgam, which the team has refined through 3D printing and hand-finishing hundreds of intricate patterns.
The process begins with the creation of molds, followed by casting each part in prototyping resin, precision fitting, painting, and assembly. This labor-intensive process takes over 300 hours to complete, resulting in an extraordinary replica that flawlessly captures the essence of the “Senna Sempre” livery.
Every visible detail is meticulously replicated, including subtle references to Ayrton Senna’s iconic racing career. The exterior boasts a striking color scheme inspired by the Brazilian flag, with Senna’s “Double S” logo prominently displayed on the blue panel between the air intakes and echoed on the rear spoiler.
The bright green Senna script on the rear wing is complemented by intricate green and white border lines on the glasshouse and the air vents at the base of the windshield, reproduced with millimeter precision. The model’s front and rear bumpers feature watermarks of the race numbers worn by Senna’s Formula 1 cars during his five consecutive Monaco victories, while the side panels showcase dot-matrix representations of Ayrton Senna, hand-applied with the same level of dedication as the MSO team in Woking.
The bespoke yellow Alcantara interior with green perforations can be admired through the model’s openable doors, revealing every minute detail, from the white 12 o’clock marker on the steering wheel to Senna’s signature alongside his famous quote: “I have no idols. I admire work, dedication and competence.”
The “Senna Sempre” Livery
The “Senna Sempre” livery honors Ayrton Senna’s illustrious Formula 1 career, including his three World Drivers’ Championships and five consecutive wins at the Monaco Grand Prix with McLaren. Created as part of McLaren’s ongoing association with the Ayrton Senna Institute, this livery showcases McLaren Automotive’s unparalleled paint mastery and craftsmanship through McLaren Special Operations (MSO).
It features distinctive visuals celebrating Senna’s relentless pursuit of perfection, his Brazilian heritage, and McLaren’s racing history, including on the streets of Monaco, through bold and vibrant paint colors and bespoke interior treatments.
