Aston Martin has collaborated with the high-end bicycle manufacturer, J.Laverack, to create an unexpected project, the Aston Martin 1R.

Yes, a bicycle and a tribute to the shared love of cycling by Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford, the founders of Aston Martin, and it coincides with the 110th anniversary of the British company. The price is not public, and to find out, you must inquire with the company. However, considering that J.Laverack asks for $ 5.600 for just a non-customized frame, it becomes apparent that the final price of the bicycle is particularly high.

Aston Martin 1R: the features of the super-bicycle

The Aston Martin 1R, just like any vehicle from the company, can be configured to suit individual tastes and needs using the online configurator, which offers a wide range of colors and materials, similar to those available for Aston Martin cars.

Each bicycle will be custom-built for its owner, and a visit to Aston Martin’s headquarters in Gaydon will be made for a complete fitting with the founders of J.Laverack. Each unit will also have a unique set of tools housed in a handcrafted wooden case mounted next to the frame.

The Aston Martin 1R bicycle was designed by J.Laverack in collaboration with Aston Martin automotive designers with the goal of creating a custom, highly advanced, and engineered bicycle. The frame is made with 3D-printed titanium joints and sculpted carbon fiber tubes.

Even the brakes bear the Aston Martin brand, but the real innovation lies in the absence of visible cables or holes. Even those who know little or are not interested in bicycles can admire the level of detail and precision that has gone into the design of this vehicle. Of course, it doesn’t end here. The Aston Martin 1R features four-piston brakes, while the carbon fiber structure offers the right stiffness for increased sensitivity.

Both aesthetically and engineering-wise, there are homages to famous Aston Martin road cars. For example, the thin 40-micron badges were made using the same process used for the badges of the Aston Martin Valkyrie.

Furthermore, the titanium brake piston covers echo the design of the Valkyrie’s wheels. The perforated attachment recalls the design of the sides of the Aston Martin DB12.

For the saddle, both companies turned to the British manufacturer Brooks. The saddle can be finished in leather or Alcantara and is fastened with a single titanium rivet.

The same material is used for the handlebar, and, of course, you can choose from the full range of Aston Martin colors.
