Audi introduces another model in their popular Sportback series, and this time it’s the new Audi Q6 Sportback e-Tron, sporting a dynamic coupé design.
What exactly does Sportback mean?
Sportback means the roofline has been lowered, creating a more coupé-like profile. This gives the car a sportier appearance, but it also affects the rear passengers, as headroom is reduced compared to the standard Q6 e-Tron.
However, the improved aerodynamics make up for it – the Sportback version has a lower drag coefficient of 0.26, which is 0.02 better than the regular model. This also results in an impressive range of up to 656 km (408 miles) from the large 100 kWh battery.
Interior
Inside, the Q6 e-Tron offers familiar luxury features with one new addition: Audi introduces ChatGPT integration with 800 voice commands. The cabin also includes the same 11.9” digital instrument cluster and a 14.5” touchscreen, with the option of a 10.9” head-up display and a Bang & Olufsen sound system for enhanced comfort.
The Q6 e-Tron offers generous space as well. The boot has 511 liters of capacity, which can be expanded to 1,373 liters when the rear seats are folded down. Additionally, there are 64 liters of storage space in the “frunk” at the front.
Model variants and specifications
The Q6 e-Tron comes in several versions, with the top model featuring a 100 kWh battery offering the longest range. For those looking for performance, the SQ6 e-Tron delivers 517 horsepower and a range of up to 607 km. The base model is equipped with an 83 kWh battery, providing a range of 545 km.
Here’s an overview of the model lineup:
- Q6 e-Tron 83 kWh: 292 hp and 545 km WLTP
- Q6 e-Tron Performance 100 kWh: 326 hp and 656 km WLTP
- Q6 e-Tron QUATTRO 100 kWh: 388 hp and 636 km WLTP
- SQ6 e-Tron 100 kWh: 517 hp and 607 km WLTP
Charging
When the battery is low, the Q6 e-Tron can take advantage of DC fast charging at 225 kW, 260 kW, or 270 kW, allowing it to charge from 10% to 80% in just 22 minutes.
Launch
The new Q6 e-Tron makes its debut today at the major motor show in Paris and is expected to be available at dealerships by early next year. However, it will be possible to pre-order the model later this year.
