Williams F1 has officially announced the signing of Spanish driver Carlos Sainz Jr. for the 2025 Formula 1 World Championship. However, the contract includes an exit clause.

As previously speculated, Carlos Sainz will drive for Williams starting next year. Both Sainz and Williams F1 made the announcement together.
“I am very happy to announce that I will be joining Williams Racing from 2025,” said the Spanish driver. “It’s no secret that this year’s driver market has been exceptionally complex for various reasons, and it took me some time to make my decision. However, I am fully convinced that Williams is the right place for me to continue my F1 journey. I am extremely proud to join such a historic and successful team, where many of my childhood heroes have driven and made their mark in our sport.”

The former Ferrari driver has clear objectives: “The ultimate goal of bringing Williams back to the front of the grid is a challenge I welcome with enthusiasm and positivity. I am convinced that this team has all the right ingredients to make history again, and from January 1st, I will give my best to move Williams forward alongside every single member of the team.”
