Here it is, the new Dacia Bigster. An SUV based on the smaller Dacia Duster. The Bigster is built on the same platform as the Duster, the CMF-B module, which also underpins other Dacia models. However, the Bigster is nearly five meters long – specifically 4.57 meters, making it 23 cm longer than the Duster.
Additionally, it is also 5 cm taller than the Duster.
The largest Dacia to date
For families, the Bigster is an even better choice, as it offers 150 liters more luggage space than the Duster, which was already a sizable vehicle. In total, the Bigster provides a spacious 657-liter trunk, meaning it can store just about anything.
The Bigster comes in three different trim levels: Expression, Extreme, and Journey, with the latter being the top model. With the Journey edition, you get 18″ alloy wheels, a 10″ digital instrument panel (compared to the 7″ standard version), and a 10.1″ touchscreen. These features are just a glimpse of what you can expect from the most well-equipped model.

- Bigster Essential: 17” alloy wheels, fixed roof bars, Media Display with a 10.1” central touchscreen, 7” digital instrument panel, manual air conditioning, rear parking sensors, and a camera.

Also available as a hybrid
The Bigster is exclusively offered with petrol engines, with the standard model starting with a 1.2-liter turbo engine delivering 140 hp, supplemented by mild-hybrid technology. It comes with a 6-speed manual transmission, and 4×4 can be selected if desired.
However, the most interesting engine in the Bigster is the hybrid variant. It is powered by a 1.6-liter petrol engine with 107 hp, combined with two electric motors, delivering a total system output of 155 hp. There is also a version outside Denmark that delivers 130 hp via the aforementioned 1.2-liter turbo engine, but without mild-hybrid technology.
The cheapest SUV on the market?
Although the prices and exact launch date for the Bigster have yet to be announced, it is expected to be one of the cheapest SUVs on the market. There is also speculation that the Bigster may eventually be available with an optional extra row of seats, allowing for up to 7 passengers, which would make it even more attractive to large families.
The Dacia Bigster positions itself as the brand’s flagship model, pointing towards what we can expect from Dacia in the future – a combination of spaciousness, functionality, and a price that matches Dacia’s reputation for being highly competitive.
The Bigster will be showcased at the major Motor Show in Paris on October 14th, where visitors will be able to get up close and experience this exciting new SUV from Dacia.
