In October, we explored Copenhagen’s latest innovations. But the new electric year always kicks off with Oslo. From the new Model Y’s first public showcase to the minivan made for gaming, we attended eCar Expo Oslo 2025 to discover some of the most exciting new electric vehicles.
Innovations that will also expand to neighboring Denmark and Sweden, and in some cases, these are premieres that—apart from the press—no one had seen before. Let’s see what they are.
eCar Expo Oslo 2025: the latest Mmdels
Dongfeng Box
One of the most affordable electric cars on the market will also arrive in Denmark in 2025, priced around 199,990 NOK.

The Dongfeng Box is a round and futuristic-looking electric city car, designed to compete with other Chinese models like Leapmotor T03 and BYD Seagull, but also with the Citroën e-C3, Dacia Spring, Fiat Grande Panda, Hyundai Inster, and Renault 5 E-Tech.

Compact yet spacious, it offers quite a bit of technology for its segment: standard features include four 5-inch digital displays, a 12.8-inch central screen, 50W wireless charging, and 11 ADAS systems, including intelligent imaging with panoramic views up to 540 degrees. The motor produces 95 hp, while the 42.3 kWh battery promises a WLTP range of up to 310 km.
Mazda 6e
A serious Japanese challenge (with a touch of Chinese influence, given its connection to Changan) to the Tesla Model 3.

The Mazda 6e marks the brand’s return to the D-segment after the retirement of the Mazda 6, and Oslo was its first public appearance following a press preview a few weeks ago.
Known in China as the Mazda EZ-6, the 6e is Mazda’s second electric model after the MX-30, but this time, it means business: 552 km of maximum range and a starting price of 350,000 DKK.

Power can reach up to 300 hp, and charging takes less than 25 minutes in the top-tier version thanks to 200 kW DC fast charging. A truly impressive effort that we can’t wait to test.
Nio EL8
We already saw it in Gothenburg last autumn: the Nio EL8 is the last brand’s flagship SUV.

With 6 seats, 650 hp, a range of up to 530 km, LiDAR sensors, and the Nomi voice assistant (which we tested in our reviews), plus of course battery swapping, it certainly holds strong cards in the luxury electric SUV segment.

We’ll see if it can help revive the brand’s sales.
Tesla Model Y
First public showcase also for the updated Tesla Model Y.

The best-selling electric car in Europe now features a design inspired by the Cybertruck and Cybercab, while inside, it has improved materials and overall quality.

Range increases to 568 km in the Long Range version, while acceleration also improves: 0-100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds in the all-wheel-drive version.
Xpeng X9
A world premiere, the Xpeng X9 is the Chinese brand’s luxury minivan. A response to models like the Lexus LM and Volvo EM90, but in pure Xpeng style.

With 7 seats, where the two center ones are independent armchairs, everything is designed for maximum convenience: the rear seats fold at the press of a button, creating a huge cargo space.

The central seats have a Zero Gravity function and can recline in an instant. The car also features a 20-inch retractable ceiling screen, perfect for watching movies or even connecting a console. Indeed, the car includes an HDMI port, and the displayed model even let visitors play Mario Kart.

In terms of performance, the car is built on SEPA 2.0 architecture, with 0-100 km/h in 5.7 seconds and a top speed of 200 km/h. Additionally, the 800V system enables ultra-fast charging, recovering 300 km in just 10 minutes.
Zeekr 7X
The third model for Europe after the 001 and X, the Zeekr 7X is currently the fastest-charging EV on the European market: 10-80% charge in just 12 minutes, thanks to the 800V system and the PMA+ platform (a variation of SEA), combined with new 100 kWh batteries developed in-house by Zeekr.

Designed and engineered in Gothenburg, it carries the signature of Stefan Sielaff, former Bentley and Audi design chief. This C-SUV offers up to 639 hp and about 600 km of range, with plenty of space for passengers and luggage.

Notable is its infotainment system, developed entirely at the Zeekr Technology Center in Gothenburg, featuring:
- ZeekrGPT, an AI-powered voice assistant
- Zeekr Places, an integrated travel recommendation feature that works with HERE Maps
