We start back in 1969, when Ford introduced a smart little coupé. It was the car for the man who loved driving. A lot has happened at Ford since then, with the last Capri rolling off the assembly line in 1986 after three generations. But now, the new Ford Capri has been unveiled. This time, it’s no longer a coupé, but a larger electric crossover.
Yes, the new fourth generation of the Capri is an electric vehicle! Ford’s latest electric car, the Ford Capri, comes in two variants – Select and Premium. The starting price is 319,990 DKK, where you can choose the rear-wheel-drive Ford Capri Select with 170 hp and a range of up to 389 km. For an additional 40,000 DKK, you can upgrade to the Premium version with 286 hp and an impressive range of up to 627 km.
Ford clothing on a Volkswagen platform
As mentioned earlier, the Ford Capri is built on VW’s MEB platform, sharing its battery and chassis with the VW ID.5. Therefore, it can be considered a sister model to the VW ID.5 or a coupé version of the Ford Explorer.
However, they are still very different, as Ford claims they will go in different directions. Therefore, the Ford Capri will compete against the VW ID.5, Cupra Tavascan, and Skoda Enyaq Coupé.
The AWD version of the Ford Capri has a 79 kWh battery and a maximum charging speed of 185 kW.
With this powerful battery pack, you can enjoy long trips, and when you need to charge, you can go from 10% to 80% in just 26 minutes in the all-wheel-drive variant.
Staying True to the Original Despite Its Size
The design of the Ford Capri combines classic lines with modern details from the iconic Capri model and is available in colors like Vivid Yellow and Blue My Mind.
Inside, the car is minimalist and digital, with soft materials and sculptural front seats that create a luxurious atmosphere.
Standard features include keyless entry and start, heated front seats and steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, and a driver’s seat with massage and memory functions.
The SYNC Move multimedia system features a central 14.6-inch screen that can be adjusted for the optimal viewing angle.
The Ford Capri offers wireless integration with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as well as wireless charging for mobile devices as standard.
The trunk has a capacity of 572 liters, perfect for both groceries and vacation luggage. Additionally, the Capri has an adjustable trunk floor and a 17-liter MegaConsole in the front, which can hold a laptop and includes a secure storage space called Private Locker.
Arriving in the Nordic countries at the End of the Year
