The HiPhi A, the latest creation from the futuristic Chinese manufacturer, has made a debut filled with records, ready to compete not only with Tesla but also with domestic rivals such as Nio and Zeekr 001 FR.

This electric supercar is built on an 800V platform, and its battery can discharge up to 1.5 MW at its peak. Moreover, it marks the restart of the alphabet in the nomenclature of the Chinese brand, as X, Y, and Z represent its three previous models.

HiPhi A and its Numerous Screens

The HiPhi A looks like it stepped out of a science fiction video game from the 1990s, particularly one set in space, as indicated by the vintage graphics on the external displays that cover part of the side. In fact, during the September show in Monaco, HiPhi had to place signs to clarify that these were production vehicles, not concepts.

And speaking of Germany, there’s a bit of it in this car. Based on the HiPhi Z, it was developed in collaboration with Apollo Automobil, a German sports car manufacturer. HiPhi A, unveiled during the launch event in Shanghai, is a 4-door, 4-seater sedan with a futuristic style that seems to draw inspiration from gaming PCs, featuring a large rear spoiler reminiscent of a sports car.

The powertrain is all-wheel-drive with a total power of 960 kW or 1287 hp provided by three electric motors, each with 320 kW of power. The motors boast a carbon-fiber rotor design, enabling a maximum speed of 22,000 rpm for over 30 minutes.

The top speed reaches 300 km/h, with a 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 2 seconds, making it not only one of the fastest electric cars but also among those with the highest top speed.

HiPhi promises to offer a range of advanced technologies, including high-performance aluminum wheels, carbon-ceramic brakes, and unique materials such as nano-ceramics and TC4 titanium. Some parts will even be manufactured using 3D technology, according to HiPhi.

The A is also expected to have an almost perfect 50:50 weight distribution, a rare feat in an electric car, achieved so far only by the Zeekr 001 FR and the Nio ET5.

HiPhi A will feature innovative technologies, such as a screen on the side of the passenger doors that allows passengers to send custom messages to other drivers, rear suicide doors similar to those of Rolls-Royce, and a screen in the corner of the co-pilot space.

The first deliveries of HiPhi A are scheduled for 2025, with subsequent availability in global markets, as announced by Human Horizons. HiPhi has already established a solid presence in Europe, with its vehicles being sold in Germany. The car will make its public debut on November 17 at the Guangzhou Auto Show in China.
