The South Korean Hyundai and the Italian Iveco have joined forces to create the commercial vehicles of the future. One of their upcoming projects is a so-called “heavy-duty truck,” which could indicate an electric truck. Before that, Iveco has unveiled their first joint vehicle with Hyundai – the new eMoovy!

What about eMoovy

Iveco is best known for their Daily van, but the eMoovy marks the debut of their first compact van, which will be launched exclusively as an electric vehicle.

Essentially, the eMoovy is based on the Hyundai Staria, a diesel-powered model. However, there is an electric version called the ST1, which is currently only available in South Korea. It is, in fact, the ST1 that has inspired the eMoovy.

The new eMoovy is powered by an electric motor developed by Hyundai, delivering 218 hp and 350 Nm. Buyers can choose between two battery sizes: 63 kWh and 76 kWh. The larger battery pack provides a WLTP range of up to 320 km. Notably, the eMoovy supports an 800V architecture, enabling ultra-fast charging and V2L capabilities. With a 350 kW charger, 100 km of range can be added in just 10 minutes.

With a payload capacity of 1,500 kg and the option for either a closed cargo area or a flatbed, the eMoovy is a versatile solution for various businesses. In Scandinavia, sales are expected to begin at the start of the year, with the first vehicles ready for delivery by mid-2025.
