Kia EV3 represents Kia’s vision for a compact electric Crossover Utility Vehicle that offers maximum utility while maintaining a high level of driving pleasure without compromise. It shares the same technology, practicality, and design as the flagship SUV, the EV9, but in more compact and accessible dimensions.

It may seem contradictory, but offering creative and innovative design solutions by blending seemingly contrasting inspirations is the core of Kia’s Opposites United design philosophy. For the Concept EV3, Kia’s designers drew great inspiration from the “Joy for Reason” philosophy. The future Kia EV3 aims not only to replicate but to amplify the success of the EV6, Kia’s first all-electric premium vehicle, in the Scandinavian countries, where it quickly achieved high sales numbers in Denmark, Norway, and Sweden.

Kia EV3 concept, pure pratical aesthetic

The interior design of the Concept EV3, with its forward-leaning windshield and long sloping roofline, creates a unique silhouette. The defined design of the squared wheel arches, cut with asymmetric angles, stands out as an unexpected and impactful ensemble. This contrasts with the wraparound windshield and the disconnected C-pillar, connecting the cabin surfaces and giving the roof a floating appearance.

Inside, the Concept EV3 combines exceptional practicality with a dynamic cabin atmosphere and design. As with the exterior, the “Joy for Reason” pillar plays a fundamental role, uniting seemingly opposite values to realize a precise design language, resulting in a cabin that is pleasant to travel in while providing ample space necessary for an active lifestyle.

The interiors of the Concept Kia EV3 also offer an environment that promotes emotional well-being. Enhanced by soft lighting, the enveloping and ultra-clean dashboard’s shape and surface, with highly refined personal lines, infuse a sense of spaciousness that offers infinite possibilities on every journey.

The advanced ergonomic design of the seats and the eco-friendly materials used, in line with Kia’s ethos of achieving sustainability on a large scale, combine with mini tables that rotate in length, position, and angle. Along with seat movement, the tables allow for four adjustment modes: Concentration, Social, Refreshing, and Storage. The foldable rear seat is equally flexible and can be easily folded upward, allowing for the storage of bulky items such as electric scooters and bicycles.

For the Concept EV3, natural fiber structures were used instead of carbon, resulting in an ultra-light and slimmer seat design. The exceptionally durable and sustainable texture gives the interiors a more elegant and modern aesthetic, accentuated by relaxing natural tones.

The CMF team has developed an innovative seat upholstery with the application of 3D Knit technology. With this methodology, natural fibers not only create a surprising three-dimensional optical effect, combined with a unique tactile sensation from the exceptionally soft surface, but also, due to significantly reduced stitching and joints and the consequent reduction of waste, they stand out for unparalleled efficiency in the category of car interior coverings.
