The Kia EV3 has all the ingredients to become a massive success in the Danish market in 2025 (that’s why has been elected Denmark’s 2025 Car Of The Year). We had the chance to test this model, and our experiences were both impressive and surprising. Here, we share our impressions of the new electric Kia EV3 GT-Line.
Kia EV3 GT-Line: our tops & flops
The Kia EV3 impressed me with its sleek design, smart interior solutions, and well-balanced chassis that delivers a smooth and refined driving experience. While it doesn’t fully deliver its claimed range, the actual range remains practical for most drivers’ needs. Combined with its spacious interior and excellent value for money, the EV3 offers a lot of car for the price, making it a strong contender in the compact electric crossover segment. I believe it is one of the best car purchases of 2025.
What we like
- Impressive range with the 81 kWh battery;
- A truly excellent chassis
- Excellent value for money, especially given its price point.
What we don’t like
- Cup holders positioned too low in the cabin;
- The charging power is not impressive.
- Limited towing capacity compared to larger electric crossovers.
Prices in Scandinavia
- Denmark: from 269,999 DKK (340,900 DKK for the GT-Line).
- Sweden: from 419.900 SEK (428.900 SEK for the GT-Line);
- Norway: from 359.900 NOK (499.900 NOK for the GT-Line)
Design: Elegance Meets Functionality
The Kia EV3 GT-Line boasts a sleek and stylish design, setting a high bar for compact electric crossovers. Its bright and inviting interior exudes a sense of cleanliness and modernity.
The two-tone GT-Line interior adds a touch of luxury, complemented by the practical 12.3-inch touchscreen and innovative features like the convertible armrest that doubles as a workstation or dining table. However, not everything is perfect. While we appreciated the thoughtful design overall, the cup holders’ placement proved problematic.
Positioned too low, they’re difficult to access, especially when driving in the dark.
Driving and performance
The Kia EV3 delivers a smooth and comfortable driving experience, with a chassis that balances comfort and precision. While it’s not a sports car, its suspension offers a luxury-like ride quality rarely seen in this price range.
The 204 hp motor provides sufficient power for everyday driving and occasional quick overtakes. Our test car, equipped with the 81 kWh battery, has a claimed range of over 600 km. In practice, however, we achieved a maximum of 480 km, likely due to the cold December weather. Despite this, the EV3’s 400V charging capability ensures quick recharges.
Practical features
The Kia EV3 offers 460 liters of trunk space, plus an additional 25-liter “frunk” ideal for storing the charging cable.
Its 750 kg towing capacity is adequate but falls short of some competitors in the segment. Additionally, the cabin is exceptionally soundproof, making it a pleasure to drive in city traffic.
