Lotus 2024 Lineup continues its expansion into the electric vehicle market, officially arriving in Norway and Sweden and set to launch in Denmark from 2024.
After a 2023 dominated by the Eletre, 2024 will see the official debut of the Emeya, Lotus’s first-ever sedan, and a preview of a more compact SUV towards the end of the year, slated for a 2025 release. Find here all car news 2024!
Lotus Eletre: The Hyper SUV of the New Era
While not Lotus’s first electric model, the Eletre is the brand’s inaugural SUV and the first designed to comfortably accommodate up to 5 people, or 4 with specific comfort-focused packages.
Described as an “Hyper SUV,” it is imposing yet well-engineered, boasting a weight approximately 200 kg lighter than the average SUV. Despite its impressive 0-100 acceleration in 2.9 seconds, making it one of the world’s fastest, the Eletre prioritizes family space and comfortable travel. High-quality materials, a carefully tuned suspension, and features like the KEF audio system for premium music quality underline this commitment.
Offered in three versions, two leaning towards comfort and one emphasizing power, all maintain a focus on performance. Business executives are expected to lean towards the comfort-oriented Eletre and Eletre S, both with a maximum power of 600 HP, Lotus Pilot package, standard integrated chassis control, 800-volt system, and a 112 kWh battery providing a range of up to 600 km on the WLTP cycle. This is accentuated by options like external digital rearview mirrors designed for aerodynamic optimization.
The Eletre R, the third version, ramps up the power to over 900 HP, featuring a 2-speed transmission, Lotus Dynamic Handling package, Lotus Track package, and a carbon package for maximum all-electric SUV performance.
Lotus Emeya: The First Sedan
Introduced in late 2023, the Emeya is Lotus’s first Hyper GT, bringing innovation to design and handling while sharing performance attributes with the Eletre. Set to be available in 2024, being a sedan, it is lighter, promising even more autonomy.
Similar to the SUV, it features refined interiors, attention to detail, advanced technology, and cutting-edge safety with LiDAR usage, an 800-volt system, and high-level performance.
The New SUV on the Horizon
As hinted, Lotus is expected to unveil its next model towards the end of 2024. While details are scarce, it is known that the model will follow the naming convention starting with ‘E,’ like all Lotus vehicles, and share many characteristics with the Eletre, including powertrain options.
Spy photos and rumors revealing some details are anticipated in the first half of the year.
Between Emira and Evija
The “Outsider” models, Emira and Evija, represent the legacy of Lotus, combining tradition with innovation.
Emira, the latest internal combustion engine Lotus, is a two-seater gathering the brand’s past, boasting a 3.5 V6 Supercharged engine with 360 HP and numerous customization options.
Then there’s Evija, the most powerful electric hypercar Lotus has ever produced, bridging the past and future. An exclusive and highly innovative model, with over 2000 HP and exceptional battery design for weight reduction and maximum aerodynamic efficiency, Evija stands as one of the last Lotus models produced in the United Kingdom.
