The Chinese-born, British-rooted automaker MG is ready to unveil its latest model: the MG MG2.
Speculation about a compact electric MG vehicle has been circulating for the past year, and now the time seems right for an official announcement. Through its social media channels in China, MG has revealed the first official image of the new green model designed for the European market, including Denmark and Scandinavia.
What to expect from the MG2
So far, only rumors and unofficial reports have surfaced, but judging by the released image, the MG2 appears to have dimensions similar to the MG3, measuring around four meters in length. However, it is expected to be slightly shorter to distinguish itself from the full-hybrid MG3. A likely estimate suggests a length of approximately 3.8 meters, featuring a more modern design than the MG3, potentially taking cues from the MG4.

Compared to its larger electric sibling, the MG2 is expected to have a reduced driving range. An entry-level configuration with a 40 kWh battery is anticipated, offering a range between 200 and 300 km. Higher-tier versions are likely to feature 50 kWh batteries, providing a range closer to 400 km.
Competitive pricing Strategy
MG has built its reputation on offering affordable vehicles, and the MG2 will be no exception. The entry-level version is expected to be priced around €20,000 or 149,000 DKK, positioning it as a direct competitor to models like the Dacia Spring and Leapmotor T03. Higher-end versions with larger battery capacities and extended range could reach up to €25,000.
While an exact launch date remains unconfirmed, MG has indicated that the MG2 will arrive by 2025, as seen in the official image. A potential unveiling could take place as early as summer 2025, with the model hitting the market by the end of the year. More concrete details should emerge in the coming months.
