Tesla has announced the official arrival of the new Tesla Model Y, the successor to one of Scandinavia’s best-selling electric vehicles. Starting from January 24, 2024, the new Model Y is available for order on Tesla’s website, as stated in a press release this morning.
Since its launch nearly five years ago, the Model Y has achieved remarkable success, with over 3.5 million units produced across Tesla’s Gigafactories in North America, Europe, and Asia. In 2023, the Model Y claimed the title of the world’s best-selling car across all drivetrain and energy categories, further solidifying its role in the transition to sustainable transportation. European production has been centralized at Tesla’s Berlin-Brandenburg Gigafactory since 2022.

Deliveries of the new Model Y are scheduled to begin in March, with additional variants expected to be introduced later.
Enhanced comfort and efficiency
The updated Model Y has been developed with valuable input from Tesla owners, resulting in a range of improvements and new features. The vehicle boasts enhanced driving dynamics thanks to revised chassis settings that strike a balance between comfort and agility. Additionally, aerodynamic upgrades to the exterior design reduce drag, increasing efficiency and range.
A standout feature of the new front design is the inclusion of a camera that enhances driver visibility. This camera is equipped with heating and a sprinkler system to ensure functionality in cold or adverse weather conditions.
The cabin of the new Model Y has been reimagined with a focus on premium materials and noise reduction. Aluminum and soft textiles have been incorporated into the interior, and wind, road, and tire noise have been significantly minimized. The new seats offer greater comfort and functionality, including electric adjustment and improved ventilation.
Tesla has also introduced an updated center console that provides additional storage, precision mechanisms, and a touch of luxury with genuine aluminum details.
Advanced technology and connectivity
The new Model Y features next-generation connectivity hardware, offering faster download speeds and improved Wi-Fi coverage. A new 8-inch touch screen for second-row passengers provides access to entertainment and climate controls, while USB-C ports with up to 65W power allow for rapid device charging.
The audio system has also been upgraded, featuring concealed speakers and improved microphone quality for clearer calls. Tesla’s over-the-air software updates continue to be a cornerstone of the ownership experience, ensuring access to future enhancements at no additional cost.
