A modern Scandinavian

The exterior of the XC90 has been updated with a more modern design, drawing inspiration from the latest fully electric models (and in particular from EX40 and EX90). However, the most significant updates are found inside the vehicle.

The cabin has been refreshed with a focus on functionality, featuring the latest user interface innovations, similar to those found in Volvo’s EX90 and EX30 models. This includes a larger central touchscreen with higher resolution, improving the user experience and providing access to new features, apps, and regular software updates.

The updated interior features a redesigned front cabin that exemplifies modern Scandinavian design. The dashboard has taken on a more horizontal form, incorporating decorative panels made from recycled materials, while the new vertical air vents bring a fresh touch to the design. The lighting has been designed to create a more luxurious feel at night.

Volvo has also designed more storage space in the center console to make the cabin more practical. An additional cupholder has been added, along with a wireless phone charger. The XC90 can be equipped with a Bowers & Wilkins HiFi sound system that can recreate the acoustics of a stage, concert hall, or jazz club.

Leading in safety

The Volvo XC90 is among the safest vehicles on the road, equipped with an advanced safety cell and a comprehensive suite of safety features.

With radar and a front camera, the XC90 can detect if it has veered into an oncoming lane and correct itself back into the right path. It also helps prevent road departures and can brake and steer to avoid collisions with other vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists.

The XC90 offers improved seating comfort and suspension. Each shock absorber adjusts mechanically to the current road conditions, optimizing both comfort and stability, resulting in a safer and more comfortable driving experience.

The air suspension system can lower or raise the car depending on the need, such as for easier entry and exit, better aerodynamics at high speeds, or increased ground clearance for rough terrain. Additionally, Volvo Cars has added extra sound insulation to further reduce wind and road noise.

Danish prices for the new Volvo XC90 start at 1,049,000 DKK. Orders for the new XC90 are now open, with production slated to begin in late 2024, and the first customer deliveries expected around the end of 2024.
