Hyundai Motor Group has unveiled its latest infotainment system, Pleos Connect, built on the Android Automotive OS, like Renault’s OpenR Link or Volvo and Polestar infotainment.

Designed to offer an experience closer to a smartphone than a traditional dashboard, Pleos Connect is set to revolutionize in-car technology across Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis models. Pleos Connect is set to debut in Hyundai models from the second quarter of 2026, maybe on the facelifted Hyundai Ioniq 6 as we can see from the official pictures, which shows also the new interiors of the car. The korean group has the ambitious goal of integrating the system into over 20 million vehicles by the end of 2030.

Pleos Connect is a more consistent infotainment system with the company.

Pleos Connect marks Hyundai’s commitment to software-driven vehicles by integrating a dedicated app store and enabling third-party applications. This approach mirrors the functionality seen in electric models from Volvo and Renault that already utilize Google Automotive.

By adopting an open ecosystem, Hyundai aims to attract creative developers worldwide, enhance customer satisfaction, and accelerate innovation in software-defined vehicles.

Pleos Connect introduces advanced features such as split-view and multi-window capabilities, allowing both drivers and passengers to make full use of the screen simultaneously. Additionally, the system integrates Gleo AI, a voice assistant capable of understanding natural speech to manage functions like music selection, navigation, and seat heating adjustments.

To further support the developer community, Hyundai has launched Pleos Playground—a platform offering API access, design guidelines, and coding examples to encourage the development of applications and services tailored to the new system.
