Polestar now expands in Sweden with significant growth in sales and a broader retail presence. By early 2025, Polestar will open new locations in Eskilstuna and Västerås in partnership with Bilia, further strengthening its foothold in the Swedish market. Additionally, Polestar will establish a new full-service facility with Bilia in the Malmö area.

Bilia is one of Europe’s leading providers of car ownership solutions, specializing in service, repairs, fuel, car washing, rentals, accessories, and more. With approximately 170 facilities across Sweden, Norway, Luxembourg, and Belgium, Bilia offers a wide range of automotive services, including original parts, tire hotels, wheel restoration, glass repair, and e-commerce solutions.

Bilia also sells new and used vehicles from top brands such as Volvo, BMW, MINI, Toyota, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, and many others. Additionally, the company operates fuel sales and car washes in Sweden, ensuring comprehensive support for car owners across the region.

A growing country

Despite problems in the rest of Europe, Polestar mantains a big precsence in its homecountry- According to registration data from Mobility Sweden, Polestar experienced a 32.8% increase in sales volume in November compared to the same month last year. For the first eleven months of this year, Polestar delivered a total of 5,007 vehicles, marking a 52.7% year-on-year growth.

With the addition of Eskilstuna and Västerås, Polestar’s network now covers key locations, including Kalmar, Växjö, Helsingborg, Jönköping, Gothenburg, Malmö, Stockholm, Umeå, and Landvetter Airport.

Polestar’s growth is particularly notable against a challenging market backdrop. Mobility Sweden reports that Polestar’s overall market share has nearly doubled in 2024, reaching 2.1% in November compared to 1.3% the previous year. In the electric vehicle segment, Polestar’s market share rose to 5.99% this year, up from 3.26% in the same period last year. This increase comes amid a 7% decline in Sweden’s total car market and a 16.9% decrease in the electric car segment.
