Renault continues its tradition of creating vehicles for every lifestyle, and the latest edition of the Renault Espace is no exception. As one of the most iconic models in Renault’s history, the Espace has been a pioneer in its segment since its debut in 1984. Now in its sixth generation, this spacious family vehicle arrives with extensive upgrades, including a refreshed Rafale-inspired facelift.
Space for the whole family – and more!
The new Renault Espace has been visually refined, adopting a more modern and dynamic design. Over a third of the body panels are new, including the front, hood, and rear end. A redesigned grille and updated LED lighting signature give the front a sharper, more assertive appearance. At the rear, the logo is elegantly integrated into the tailgate, complemented by sleek, streamlined taillights. A new color option—Baltic Blue Grey—adds to the visual appeal, while exclusive Esprit Alpine and Iconic variants feature unique styling elements such as an Ice Black grille and striking 20″ Altitude wheels.

Inside, comfort has been a top priority. The Renault Espace boasts the largest panoramic glass roof in its class, Solarbay, which transitions between transparent and opaque at the command of your voice via Google Assistant. New ergonomic front seats offer improved lumbar support, while enhanced sound insulation reduces cabin noise for a more serene ride.

Technology-wise, the Espace features Renault’s new OpenR infotainment system, combining two 12″ displays and a 9.3″ head-up display to offer nearly 1,000 cm² of screen area. The system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and integrates built-in Google services like Google Maps and Google Assistant for seamless navigation and voice control. A new Take a Break! feature uses a camera to monitor driver fatigue and encourages breaks when needed.

The flexible interior layout accommodates either five or seven seats. In the five-seat configuration, cargo space ranges from 692 to 2,224 liters. With seven seats, the capacity varies from 520 to 2,054 liters, making it one of the most versatile family cars in its class.
Small but capable engine
Under the hood, Renault has retained the same powertrain setup as before: a 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine paired with two electric motors. This full hybrid system delivers a total output of 200 hp. While the engine remains unchanged, the petrol tank has grown, allowing for a combined driving range of approximately 1,100 km according to Renault—when both the combustion engine and electric motors are working together.

We drove the previous generation Espace last year and were pleasantly surprised by how well such a small engine performed in such a large car.
Not expected in Denmark and Norway
While we hope Renault will bring the new Espace to Denmark, it’s unfortunately unlikely. The previous model saw limited sales, largely due to its relatively high price point. That’s a shame, because the Espace proved to be an exceptionally comfortable long-distance cruiser that impressed despite its modest engine size.
The new Renault Espace will be built at Renault’s plant in Palencia, Spain, and will be available in three trims: Techno, Esprit Alpine, and Iconic.
