Powertrain and battery options

Rivian now offers three powertrain options for the R1S and R1T, each providing impressive performance and power tailored to different driving preferences:

  • Dual-Motor: Producing 533 horsepower and 610 Nm of torque, this variant accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. A Performance version of the Dual-Motor offers 665 horsepower and 829 Nm of torque, reaching 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds.
  • New Tri-Motor: Replacing the previous Quad-Motor, the Tri-Motor setup includes one front motor and two rear motors, delivering a powerful 850 horsepower and 1,103 Nm of torque with a 0-100 km/h time of 2.9 seconds.
  • Quad-Motor: The most powerful configuration offers an impressive 1,025 horsepower and 1,198 Nm of torque, achieving 0-100 km/h in under 2.5 seconds and completing a quarter mile in just 10.5 seconds. To support such high performance, Rivian introduced a Launch Control system that temporarily increases the top speed to 210 km/h.

Rivian’s new battery packs offer three range options:

  • LFP Standard Pack: With an EPA-rated range of 270 miles (434 km).
  • Large Pack: Available for Dual Motor models, with a range of 330 miles (531 km).
  • Max Pack: The highest-capacity battery, exclusive to Tri- and Quad-Motor models, offers an extended range of 420 miles (675 km).

These new batteries utilize efficient cylindrical 2170 cells, encased in a lightweight, cast aluminum structure, which improves both assembly and maintenance processes.

Bold design with practical innovations

The R1S and R1T showcase distinctive design elements, including a front light bar and adaptive matrix headlights. Specific model features include yellow brake calipers and badges for the Tri-Motor, while the Quad-Motor sports accents in Laguna Beach Blue. New color options, such as Storm Blue and a “Darkout” trim with satin finishes, are also available.
