Founded in 2019 in Copenhagen, Spirii is now one of the most interesting players in the intricate world of electric mobility. It is a key player in the development of platforms and software for electrifying vehicle fleets, including heavy-duty vehicles. Born from the experience of its founders, including Torben Fog (who is also the CEO of Spirii’s Daily Innovation), with whom I had the pleasure of speaking during EVision 2025, Spirii has rapidly grown into a company with 150 employees and offices in six countries.
“We started in true start-up style, with a small rented office in Nørrebro, four chairs, and an IKEA table,” says Torben. “It took us three months to get our first client, but since then, growth has been steady.” Today, Spirii works with numerous companies. In Denmark, notable clients include Falck, CircleK, and DitoBus, while internationally, it collaborates with Audi, Shell, HelloFresh, Siemens, and many others.
The Spirii platform
Spirii is particularly known for its Spirii Connect platform. “It is a fully scalable platform that includes all conventional services for managing charging infrastructure, but also more advanced functionalities,” explains Torben. These include integrated payment solutions, customizable apps for clients, and a proprietary app, Spirii Go, available on Android and iOS. Thanks to this infrastructure, Spirii provides access to over 500,000 public charging points across Europe. “Companies can also customize charging cards as they wish, with their own logo.”

Beyond this, Spirii is working to ensure the interoperability of electric vehicle charging, making access to charging stations less chaotic—even for vehicles that do not support Plug&Charge technology. In short, as Fog puts it, enabling seamless travel from point A to point B across different countries without requiring multiple contracts with different operators.
“We collaborate with partners like Hubject and Gireve, the largest roaming hubs in Europe, to make charging more accessible,” adds Torben.
For corporate fleets
Spirii doesn’t just serve private customers—it actively works with companies managing electric fleets. “We provide solutions for buses, trucks, vans, and logistics vehicles, partnering with some of the world’s largest transport companies,” says Torben.
With an advanced management system, Spirii helps optimize charging times based on energy costs and renewable energy availability. “If a vehicle needs to be ready for use by 6:00 AM, we can schedule charging during periods of lower costs and lower environmental impact. We also have access to energy price data across Europe, allowing us to update public charging costs on an hourly basis.“
In addition to managing charging stations, Spirii helps companies integrate battery storage and solar panels for greater energy independence. “In some areas, like the Netherlands, securing enough energy for fleet charging can take years. That’s why we assist companies in combining charging stations with battery storage and grid-balancing solutions, improving the return on investment,” continues the Spirii co-founder.
Towards simpler charging
In recent years, the company has expanded its international presence, working with energy companies and automakers. “We operate in Europe, Africa, and Latin America, with recent expansions into Mexico and Brazil,” says Torben. Additionally, the recent integration with Edenred, a company operating in 46 countries, has given Spirii an even broader base for expansion.
“There aren’t many platforms offering solutions as advanced as Spirii Connect, but I believe they will become increasingly common in the future,” concludes Torben.
