Torsus, known for producing some of the world’s toughest off-road buses, in collaboration with Rheinmetall Military Vehicles and supported by MAN, the Volkswagen Group’s truck manufacturer, has introduced the Torsus Terrastorm 4×4.
This vehicle is the first in a series designed specifically for special operations, utilizing the robust foundation provided by MAN.

Debut Model: Terrastorm HD 4×4 Double Cab Flatbed
The inaugural model in this series is the Terrastorm HD 4×4 Double Cab Flatbed with a tarpaulin.
It is built on the MAN TGE/Volkswagen Crafter 4Motion chassis and drivetrain, ensuring a robust and reliable foundation.
The tarpaulin can be quickly mounted and removed, allowing the vehicle to transform from a covered unit, providing protection against the elements, to an open-bed pickup.
This design offers extreme agility, facilitating rapid cargo and personnel access.
Design and Inspiration
The Terrastorm is manufactured in Slovakia at the Torsus facility. It draws inspiration from the Praetorian, the world’s first off-road bus.
This background ensures the Terrastorm is designed to meet the highest standards of toughness and reliability.
Engine and Performance
The Terrastorm features a 2.0-liter bi-turbo diesel engine compliant with Euro 6d standards, available in two power configurations: 140 HP with 340 Nm of torque, or 176 HP with 410 Nm of torque.
These engines can be paired with either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission, offering flexibility to meet different operational needs.
Rigorous Testing
To ensure its reliability, Torsus subjected the Terrastorm to a rigorous testing program across various facilities in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, including the renowned Tatra testing ground.
These tests ensure the vehicle can withstand and manage off-road conditions beyond normal limits while maintaining comfort and usability on the road.
