Almost unexpectedly, the Chinese tech giant has unveiled the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, the most powerful version of its first car, although it is still a prototype at the moment.

With a dedicated and aggressive aesthetic, already track-ready, the Xiaomi SU7 boasts impressive performance, a declaration of war against Ferrari, but also against its in-house rival, the Zeekr 001 FR from Geely/Volvo, which is very similar in performance and concept, as it is also an electric hypercar. Additionally, it challenges the Lotus Emeya and Evija, both also from Geely.

Carbon Fiber and 1548 HP

A four-door sedan among the most powerful in the world, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra features a body entirely made of carbon fiber. The central component is the HyperEngine V8s engine, which alone delivers 578 HP and 635 Nm of torque, present in two units complemented by a third, slightly less powerful V6s engine.

In total, the sedan delivers 1548 HP. For comparison, the Bugatti Chiron has 1500 HP, the McLaren Speedtail 1079, and the Ferrari LaFerrari 963.

At the same time, the Zeekr 001 FR has 1300 HP, and the Lotus Emeya R 918. Only the Lotus Evija, with 2039 HP, has more. Additionally, it is one of the fastest and most agile electric cars: it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.93 seconds and has a top speed of over 350 km/h.

As mentioned, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is a prototype, although the company seems intent on starting production in 2025, for a road version.

However, enthusiasts will be able to see its potential as early as October, when the car will attempt to set a new record at the Nürburgring, currently held by the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with a lap time of 7 minutes and 7.55 seconds.

The SU7 Ultra is powered by a Qilin 2.0 battery produced by CATL, but there are no details on the vehicle’s range or fast-charging capabilities. The choice of such an advanced battery suggests a focus on performance and energy efficiency, crucial elements for competing in the electric supercar segment.
