Next year, Xpeng is set to introduce its latest flagship model, the Xpeng P7+, which could become one of the hottest electric vehicles of the year.

Xpeng has already made a strong mark in the Nordic region with its lineup, from the spacious G9 to the more compact G6, both of which have found solid footing in the market. However, their P7 electric sedan didn’t quite achieve the same level of success. Now, a completely revamped version is on the way, aptly named P7+, signaling not only upgrades but also a larger size.

Bigger and more competitive

The P7+ has grown significantly in size compared to its predecessor, both in length and width, putting it in the same class as major competitors like the NIO ET7 and Mercedes EQS. While the original P7 was already a sizable vehicle, the P7+ stretches over five meters – 168 mm longer than its predecessor – making it a strong contender among the big players in the EV segment.

One of the most notable changes is the switch from a traditional sedan body style to a fastback. This shift not only adds more cargo space but also improves rear passenger comfort. The Xpeng P7+ is also the first model to be built on their new AD platform, which we’re likely to see powering the next generation of the G9 as well.

While an official European version has not yet been announced, we expect to hear more soon. In China, the P7+ is already available with two battery options: a 60.7 kWh pack or a larger 76 kWh pack, offering a range of up to 710 km. However, this figure is based on the Chinese CLTC standard, which tends to yield higher estimates than the more conservative European WLTP standard. The big question is whether Xpeng will equip the European version of the P7+ with an even larger battery.

 Familiar interior, yet upgraded

The interior of the P7+ feels similar to previous Xpeng models, but one key new feature is the 8” touchscreen for rear passengers, reminiscent of Tesla’s Model 3 setup. Up front, there’s a 15.6” touchscreen supported by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chip, ensuring a fast and smooth user experience.

We eagerly await more details about the P7+ when it arrives in Europe. Early indications suggest a higher price compared to the previous P7. However, with the new P7+, you’re getting a first-class EV that blends cutting-edge technology, design, and comfort.
